Hull House Double Champions! Flock Winners in both the North West and Northern Area Texel Breeders Club flock competitions

For the first time in our flocks history we have been awarded overall Champion Flock in both the Northern Area Texel Sheep Breeders Club (NATSBC) and the North West Texel Breeders Club (NWTBC) flock competitions. We also won 1st prize large pen of ewe lambs with our pen of 10 ewe lambs sired by Langside Thunderbird and Milnbank Wicked. Our new stock ram Tamnamoney Young Willie McBride also won Champion Stock Ram.

Top priced shearling ewe at Lanark 2016 - MJH1504937 sells for 13,000gns

Our shearling ewes sold well at the Scottish National sale in Lanark with our first in the pen taking Reserve Female Champion in the presale show before selling for the days top price of 13,000gns. Sired by Garngour Vodka and out of a ewe by Sportsmans Terrific, she sold to Hugh and Alan Blackwood for their Auldhouseburn flock. The other 3 gimmers in the pen sold well too, with prices of 2,000gns and 1,400gns selling to Stewart Ferris, and another at 1,100gns to Mr Ernest. All 4 gimmers were sired by Garngour Vodka.

Tamnamoney Young Willie McBride - our new stock ram purchased at Lanark 2016

We purchased Tamnamoney Young Willie McBride at the Scottish National sale at Lanark for 9,000gns, a very flashy lamb with exceptional carcass. His sire, Knap Wot A Nut, was Reserve Champion at Carlisle 2015 and sold for 5,000gns.

Langside Thunderbird progeny successful at shows and sales

His first 9 sons sold to average 1,790gns; these include Hull House Valdaron selling for 3,600gns to Messrs Whiteford of Brampton, Hull House Warbird selling for 3,000gns to the Scogtonhead flock and 2,200gns for Hull House Vigilante to Mark Keighley, Manderlea flock - Hull House Vigilante was second prize shearling ram at the Solway and Tyne Club sale at Carlisle.
